There's a New World Coming

Today’s Reading: 2 Peter 3:1-13

2 Peter 3:10 — But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

God promises a better world to come. Peter wrote that new heavens and a new earth are coming, and that they will be filled with God’s righteousness. The Lord will make all things new and improved by His righteousness. Everything will be made perfectly right.

Peter said that this earth was once destroyed by a great flood because evil and wickedness had infected everyone. The modern world is becoming more and more like the world of Noah’s time because of man’s love of self and sin. Peter said that Jesus and the prophets foretold that the world will be destroyed once again, this time by fire.

Perhaps you are a nature lover and your soul is stirred by the wonders of God’s creation great and small. Maybe you are a stargazer who enjoys the beauty of the night sky and the vastness of the universe. You could be a people person who is fascinated by the variety of people in the world and all the different ways they express themselves. All of these will be made new.

A better world is coming, one that is inhabited by people who have been made new by the grace of God. You and I will finally experience the new nature, the new heart, and the new spirit in a new, glorified body that is unfettered by the sin nature. We will appreciate our new lives together in an atmosphere of God’s perfect righteousness.

One day, everything will be born again and there will be no aging or rust or decay. There will be nothing to cause sadness or fear or sorrow. The righteousness of Christ will fill every moment in every place with peace and joy and love. We were made to experience this, so let’s get ready to meet Jesus today.

“Peter said that this earth was once destroyed by a great flood because evil and wickedness had infected everyone.”

There is great love from God. But there is other side like great flood or discipline by the God the Father. It will be destroyed all kind of rudeness. Because it had infected everyone.

Give me a discernment, Jesus!

“베드로는 악과 사악함이 모든 사람을 감염시켰기 때문에 이 땅이 큰 홍수로 멸망한 적이 있다고 말했습니다.”

하나님의 크신 사랑이 있습니다. 그러나 대홍수나 아버지 하나님의 징계 같은 다른 측면도 있습니다. 그것은 모든 종류의 무례함을 파괴할 것이다. 왜냐하면 그것이 모두를 감염시켰기 때문입니다. 주님, 분별력을 주시옵소서!
