The Magnificent Mystery

Today’s Reading: Psalm 46

Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

God promises that we can know Him. How can we know or comprehend someone who surpasses knowledge, someone who is incomprehensible? God is so great, so awesome, so infinite in all His thoughts and ways that we will never be able to completely grasp Him with our minds.

God cannot be analyzed by men and summarized in scientific terms or by mathematical equations. Even poets, philosophers, and theologians cannot find the words that can adequately describe or define the essence of God.

God does not fit into a neat little box that we can tuck safely away on a shelf. God is not man’s invention that functions according to human understanding or control. God is not the universe or any created thing. God transcends time and space, matter and energy, thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams.

God says to us, “Be still, and know that I am God.” God wants us to know Him, and the first thing we must know about God is that He is. God says, “I am.” God is self-existent, uncreated. He is the Creator of all that exists. God exists and there is only one God.

The Lord God says, “Be still in the knowledge that I am, that I always have been, and that I always will be God over all things, including you and your life. I am all-knowing, all-powerful, and always present everywhere, and I am all-good. When you begin to realize who I am, you will honor and exalt Me.”

Enjoy the magnificent mystery of God. Let yourself be drawn into the depths of who He is by receiving His love, His grace, and the eternal life of His word and Spirit today.

God says to us, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

‭Psalms 23:1-4 NLT‬

[1] The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. [2] He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. [3] He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. [4] Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

‭Psalms 46:1 NLT‬

[1] God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Thank you, Jesus!

You make everything possible.
