You Will See Greater Things

John 1:50 — Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

What do you see when you look at your life? Do you only see where you fall short? Or can you look back and see what God has done for you and what God has done in you and in the lives of your family and other church members? Sometimes we get so nearsighted that we overlook the great work of God over time.

Jesus promised Nathaniel that he would see greater works than what had just happened, because with Jesus, the greatest and the best is always yet to come. With Jesus, there is the certain hope that no matter what happens today, the future is brighter than anything we can imagine, because God is in it and He always is working all things together for divine good (Romans 8:28).

The lyrics to a song just popped into my head: “If you could see where Jesus brought me from to the place where I am today, then you would know the reason why I love Him so.” Think about where you would be today if you had never met Jesus and given Him your heart. “Where would I be without the blood? Where would I be without Your love?” Those song lyrics just came to mind as well.

Never give up hope. Never stop believing. Never stop praying. Never stop sharing the gospel with those who are lost. Never stop receiving God’s Word, God’s love, God’s grace for your life. Because God will never give up on you or stop loving you. The Finished Work is working in your life to complete your growth into the very image of God’s Son.

"God is in it, and He always is working all things together for divine good" (Romans 8:28)."

When I was young, I was always busy practicing the piano all the time.

When I was working at the school, I concentrated on teaching the students.

When I was raised the kids, I was just focused on children's nurturing and education.

None of these were perfect.

These things are still working on the way in my life. There are no results yet. I can only enteust God is in it, and He always is working all things together for divine good (Romans 8:28)

God is the one only perfect.
