Yielding to the Potter

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 45:4-13

Isaiah 46:4 — Even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.

God promises His care for every age. God is not shy to talk about Himself. What would be boasting for a human being is just a statement of facts for God. God says, “I made the earth and created man on it; it was My hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.” No man or woman can honestly say that, but God can.

God says, “I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God.” The world does not want to acknowledge the truth of God’s statement. Foolish people strive against the knowledge of God. They suppress the knowledge of God and even say that there is no God (Psalm 14:1). The clay struggles in the Potter’s hands instead of yielding to His gentle touch.

But the child of God surrenders to the warm grasp of God’s hands and says, “Mold me and make me after They will, O Lord.” After all, it was the Lord who formed us in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13; Jeremiah 1:5). God says, “I made you; I will carry you when you are young and when you are old. I will save you.”

Daniel and his three friends “yielded up their bodies rather than serve and worship any god except their own God” (Daniel 3:28). Hezekiah exhorted his people to “yield yourselves to the Lord and come to His sanctuary, which He has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God” (2 Chronicles 30:8).

When we yield ourselves, body, soul, and spirit to the Lord, we will be made into His likeness. From the womb to the tomb, from the cradle to the grave, God wants to hold us in His hands and make us holy and whole. Surrender yourself to God’s care today.

Devotional

“When we yield ourselves, body, soul, and spirit to the Lord, we will be made into His likeness.”

It means I give myself to God. When I am thinking, think with Him. When I move, do with God. There are many things beyond my mind and emotions.I give myself to the Spirit, which is God’s words. He leads me into His likeness. Thank you, Jesus!

“우리 자신의 몸과 생각과 영혼을주님께 드릴 때, 우리는 그분의 형상을 닮아 갈 것입니다.”

나는 나 자신을 하나님께 드린다.

내가 생각할 때 그분과 함께 생각한다.

내가 움직일 때, 하나님과 함께 행동한다.

내 생각과 감정 넘어에는 많은 것들이 있다. 나는 하나님의 말씀인 성령에 나 자신을 맡긴다. 그분은 나를 그분의 형상으로 닮아가…
