Without a Doubt, Jesus is With Us

Today’s Reading: Matthew 28:16-20

Matthew 28:20 —  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

God promises never to leave us. In today’s reading Matthew records that when the eleven disciples saw Jesus, they worshiped Him, but some doubted. Whoever these disciples were, they hesitated and wavered, perhaps uncertain that the one they saw was really Jesus.

Jesus had clearly told His disciples that when He died, He would rise again after three days. And even though Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead not many days before, the disciples had difficulty believing that Jesus could live again after being tortured and crucified.

Crucified people were thoroughly, unmistakably dead. But here was someone who looked like Jesus, yet alive. Then Jesus came to them and began to speak, and His words dismissed all their doubts, for nobody spoke the truth with the authority of love like Jesus.

Jesus gave the disciples a great commission and finished it with the words, “I am with you always.” If you are a disciple of Christ today, a follower of Jesus the Master, He is with you always. Have no doubt. Jesus is with you. Death could not hold Jesus in the tomb. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.

When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on the water in the storm with Jesus, he was fine until he took his eyes off Christ. That is when Peter wavered in his faith and doubted and began to sink. But Jesus grabbed Peter’s hand and saved him, because Jesus was with Him, always. Even in our fears and failures of faith, Jesus is always with us.

“Have no doubt. Jesus is with you. Death could not hold Jesus in the tomb. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.”

If God gives you, what you want. It is because he loves you.

If God doesn’t give you, what you want. It is because he protects you.

“If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God never leaves me alone. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.
