Total Forgiveness

greatergracekorea

Jeremiah 31:34 — For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.

Christianity is a radical faith because its message is that God offers total forgiveness of all sin if a person will simply believe and receive God’s love and grace. Simply turning to God and forsaking our old beliefs and our old ways of living, we can enter into a personal relationship with the one true God who will never deal with us according to our sins.

When I come to Christ for salvation, God promises to justify me as a sinner and see me “just as if I had never sinned.” In God’s sight, I am perfect, righteous, holy, and complete in my union with Christ. But, I still sin, don’t I? Yes, but all of my sins were paid for by the blood of Jesus at Calvary. And it is no longer I (the new spiritual man —Christ) in me who sins, but I (the old sinful man — the flesh) who sins.

Paul wrote, “I (the old flesh man) have been crucified with Christ, and I (the old man) no longer live, Christ (the new man) lives in me. The life that I live in the body, I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20). Christ in me does not — cannot— sin. The part of me that does sin, the old crucified sinful flesh man, unfortunately does sin. My sin does not take me out of Christ or take Christ out of me, but sin does interrupt my fellowship with the life of Christ who lives in me.

Thank God that fellowship with Christ can be quickly restored by confession of sin (1 John 1:9). It is so important to remain in fellowship with Christ, communing with His grace and truth, for that is what keeps us from sinning. Under Christ’s new covenant (the new economy of grace) we thank Him for His once and for all sacrifice for our sin. The debt of sin was paid in full, and we who have been born again are totally forgiven so that we can be one with God in Christ.

O, what a divine gift we have been given! Let us never take for granted the terrible price Jesus paid for our forgiveness. Thank you, Lord, for being the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world (John 1:29)!

My old sinned nature, flesh, has been dead with Christ on the cross.

I was born again, which is a new nature, a new man.

I am not old inhae Park anymore, but new inhae Park.

Please, let me grow up with your precious words.

Please, make me…
