There Is No God Like Our God

Today’s Reading: Micah 7:14-20

Micah 7:18 — Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in steadfast love.

God promises to forgive and to love us. The prophet Micah asked a profound question: “Who is a God like You?” There is no God like Yahweh, no Savior like Jesus Christ, no Helper, Comforter, and Advocate like the Holy Spirit. Man imagines and makes gods, perhaps while he is under the influence of the demonic atmosphere, but there is no God like the one true God.

Our God is a holy God, perfectly pure in His love, mercy, justice, and grace. You can find no fault in God, His wisdom, His judgments, or His commandments. God is the Author and Finisher of all Truth. Anything that contradicts God’s Word is a lie. God is completely upright, righteous, moral, and just. He is impeccable!

Yet a God who hates sin with a holy hate pardons iniquity and passes over transgression. How can this be? God Himself has made a way at His own personal expense to rescue sinners from their spiritual blindness and depravity. Because of steadfast, holy, perfect love, God sacrificed Himself to give us forgiveness and eternal life.

This is why the Bible says:

  • No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! (Psalm 86:8).

  • How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you! (2 Samuel 7:22).

  • O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven above or on the earth below. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion (1 Kings 8:23).

  • “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me” (Isaiah 46:9).
