The Return of the King

Today’s Reading: John 13:33-14:3

Revelation 1:7 — Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

God promises Christ’s return. Jesus is coming back. He came once in humility to save the world from sin and He’s coming again in glory to judge and rule the world. Christ wore a crown of thorns at His first coming, but He will wear a crown of glory at His second coming.

When Christ came as the Lamb of God, He came to take away the sin of the world and justify sinners who would repent and receive the grace of God. When Christ comes as the Lion of Judah, He will judge sinners who refuse to repent and who reject the grace of God.

God is long-suffering and is not willing that any should perish, but He is also holy and just. The world cries out for justice, and Jesus will come and execute prefect, holy justice. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord when He takes the throne of the earth and reigns for one thousand years.

Jesus was taken up in the clouds of heaven at His ascension, and He will come riding on the clouds, shining like the sun when the Father sends Him back to earth to establish His earthly kingdom. But before Jesus comes back as the King, He will be coming back as the Bridegroom for His bride, the church. We will be caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds and be united with the one who loves us so much!

Just think this thought to yourself — Jesus is coming back for me! Make it personal. Jesus is coming back to receive you to Himself and to be your one true love forever. Jesus is going to make everything right. Even so. Amen.
