The Greatest Story Ever Told

Today’s Reading: Revelation 22:1-5

Revelation 22:3-4 — No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads.

God promises a good ending. Have you ever read a story or seen one on stage or screen and been unhappy with the ending? A bad ending can be very disappointing and make you regret all the time you spent reading or watching the story. But God guarantees a great ending for the story of our lives if we are His.

In God’s story, the Good Guy wins and evil is defeated. There is perfect justice and the hopes of all who put their faith in God are fulfilled beyond anything they could have ever dreamed or imagined.

John describes a beautiful heavenly city that even people who hate cities will love. There will be living waters, healing trees, divine light, and the Lamb of God Himself! No one who enters that city will be disappointed.

There are many sad stories in the world today. War stories. Famine stories. Sickness and disease and suffering stories. Stories of broken marriages, broken families, betrayal, and terrible loneliness. But there is an ongoing story of redemption that God is writing that can change these sad stories to glorious stories.

Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He is bringing your story to a beautiful ending, which is actually a new beginning without an end. Rely on the Author to complete His good work in you.

Devotional

“Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith.”

My story could be so dramatic, if I hadn't met Jesus properly in my first year of college.I would have been seriously lost as a pastor's daughter. The main character of my story was GGWO, the director was Pastor Prokop and his wife, and I would be an Extra.

Isn’t this the second part of my story?! The main character is GMC and the director is Pastor Dan. I still live as an Extra, but I couldn't be more thankful.

Thank you , Jesus for being the author of my story!
