The God of Seeing

Today’s Reading: Hebrews 6:9-20

Hebrews 6:10 — For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as you still do.

God promises to see your life. God is always watching over us. We do not sense His eyes on us because we are so busy going about our daily lives, and we forget that the eyes of God and angels observe us. Paul said that he was a spectacle to both angels and men (1 Corinthians 4:9). Peter said that the angels look into the work of the gospel in our lives (1 Peter 1:12).

God sees our lives and the paths that lie before us, and He knows where each path will lead (Proverbs 5:21).  The Lord sees every thought and plan in our hearts (1 Chronicles 28:9). God’s desire is to lead us and guide us into the right pathways that lead to life and righteousness. This is why God wants us to turn and look to Him for salvation (Isaiah 45:22).

In 2 Chronicles 16:9, we are told that “the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.” God is looking for ways to strengthen and support you.

Hagar experienced this strength and support from God in the desert. She was pregnant with Abram’s child, and she had run away because Sarai, Abram’s wife, was angry with her. The angel of the Lord met her by a spring and spoke encouraging  words to her. She called the Lord “El Roi” which means “the God of seeing.”

God will not overlook you today. His eyes of love follow you wherever you go, desiring fellowship with you, waiting to strengthen and support you throughout your day. God wants to show you the right way to go and walk by your side. His eyes see what we cannot see or foresee. Trust God’s vision for your life.
