Sharing Your "Christ Story"

greatergracekorea

Acts 22:15 — You are to be His witness, telling everyone what you have seen and heard.

Paul stood in chains in Jerusalem and addressed the mob that had tried to kill him. He told them the story of his conversion by Jesus on the road to Damascus, being blinded by divine light, and then having his sight restored in the house of Ananias. Ananias told Paul, “You have been appointed to be a witness for Christ and tell everyone your testimony."

Paul was faithful to tell what he had seen and heard that day when he met Jesus. We can read about Paul’s conversion in Acts 9, 22, and 26. Paul also referred to his conversion in his letters to the Corinthians and the Galatians. Paul told a simple before-and-after story about what his life was like before and after meeting Christ.

We should all have a “Christ story.” How has your life changed since Jesus Christ came into your heart? I know that your story may not be quite as dramatic as Paul’s, since you probably were not persecuting, arresting, and killing Christians when you heard the gospel; but there must be some difference that you can testify to.

Take some time today and think about the trajectory of your life before and after coming to Christ for salvation. What would your life be like today if you had never received God’s grace for salvation? Where would you likely be? How is that different from how you are living now and the direction of your life? You were once on the road to hell, but now you are headed to heaven! What is your Christ story? Don’t be shy about sharing it.

"You have been appointed to be a witness for Christ and tell everyone your testimony."

I read the Bible above all else. This is what struck me in my daily reading and actual persons. God feels delight and anger, and frustration. Again and again, God is shocked by human behavior. Sometimes, after deciding on one response, God "changes his mind." Jeremiah affected me more than any other book. The image of a wounded lover in Jeremiah is an awesome one that I can not comprehend. After one year of reading the entire Bible, I came away with the strong sense that God doesn't care so much about being analyzed. God wants to be loved.

" I have been…
