Isaiah 44:3 — I will pour My Spirit upon your offspring, and My blessing on your descendants.
Speaking on the Lord’s behalf, Isaiah had to prophesy the destruction of Israel. God’s chosen people had chosen to debase themselves with idolatry, injustice, and disobedience to God’s commandments. The penalty for these sins was clearly stated by Moses in the law. Isaiah had the unpleasant duty to inform Israel that, unless they repented, they would suffer the consequences of their decision to forsake God.
But Isaiah also was blessed to be able to speak words of hope from God. Even though God would allow His people to be conquered and taken captive because they had forsaken Him, He would not forsake them. Isaiah spoke of a future time when Israel would be restored because of God’s unfailing love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace.
In Isaiah 44, God speaks with tenderness and strong love like a Father to His children. Twice in this chapter, God reminds Israel that He formed them from the womb. Twice the Lord calls Himself Israel’s Redeemer because He has redeemed His people. God truthfully boasts that there is no god that is like Him, that He alone is God the Creator, worthy of worship.
God promises to pour out His Spirit and His blessings on future generations because He will blot out their transgressions and help them recover from their destruction. Repeatedly, God tells His people not to be afraid since He is their God. God is so good to His children. We all fail. We all need God. We all need to know that when we fail we can turn to God to seek and receive His mercy and grace. God will not forsake us. His Spirit will not be taken from us. We are blessed to know our Creator-Redeemer loves us.

I'm sure that making in the Psalms my own prayers will require a lifelong commitment. It is the advanced school of faith these poets were enrolled in, and often, I feel more like a kindergartner.
However, "God promises to pour out His Spirit and His blessings o…
