1 Samuel 17:37 — And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
David had confidence in the Lord. Since God had kept him safe when he fought a lion and a bear, David expected God to keep him safe when he fought the Philistine giant, Goliath. David had the attitude expressed by Paul in Romans 8:31 — “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
David’s faith in God was simple and sure. He wrote, “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” (Psalm 56:4). Such simple faith in God’s protection made David a fearless warrior.
We need to remember the right things. David remembered God’s faithfulness to him, and it strengthened his faith. We should also remember God’s faithfulness to us.
The Israelites remembered how God delivered them from bondage in Egypt and how He brought them through the Red Sea. They remembered how God sustained them through forty years in the wilderness. The Jewish feasts are still celebrated today to remember God’s deliverance.
We celebrate communion in church to remember God’s ultimate act of faithfulness to us. We remember that Jesus shed His blood for us to deliver us from sin and death. Let us remember the right things. Remember the times that God answered your prayers, when God healed your body, when God provided for your need, when God’s love touched you in a special way exactly when you needed it most. Remember and have faith in God.

"Remember and have faith in God."
When I face difficulties in life and don't know where to go, I try to remember the hand of the Lord that has always guided me. I try to look forward to faith.
Philippians 4:6 NLT
[6] Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
