Our Power Source

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 40:27-31

Isaiah 40:29 — He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.

God promises His power. Have you ever felt faint? Perhaps it was a time when you were out in the hot sun and you were dehydrated and you suddenly felt light-headed. When Isaiah wrote that God gives power to the faint, he meant weariness of mind and spirit.

It is not good for us to be mentally and spiritually light-headed and dizzy from spiritual dehydration. We don’t want to be falling down because we are not drinking living water from the wells of salvation (John 4:10; Isaiah 12:3). We do not want to be confused and taken advantage of because we cannot think rightly with God in truth.

God wants to give us mental and spiritual strength for daily spiritual warfare. This comes through our relationship with Christ in His Word and by His Spirit. In Revelation 22:17, the Holy Spirit and the Bride (Christ’s church) say to us, “Come and drink freely from the water of life” which satisfies the needs of the soul and spirit.

When we lack physical strength, when we have no might, God will increase our power. How does that happen? The Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will quicken—give life to—our mortal bodies since He lives in us (Romans 8:11). If the Holy Spirit can raise a dead man back to life, He can give strength to a weak person if He wants to.

God can be a source of spiritual, mental, and physical power for the believer who trusts the Lord to be the source of his or her life. By His power, God provides all that is needed for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). We can run and not be weary and walk and not faint today as we wait on God and look to Him to meet our needs.

“We love each other because he loved us first.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is my word for today.

The Bible which I downloaded sends me daily words every morning. I try to meditate and apply it. It gives me strength and power for the day to follow my Father, God. Thank you for having Russian friends during the conference!

It is a great chance to share God’s love because He loves us first.
