Today’s Reading: Psalm 81
Psalm 81:10 — I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
God promises to fill our mouths with good things. Have you ever seen one of those nature videos that shows a nest full of baby birds with their mouths open waiting for the mother or father bird to feed them? This is the picture to keep in mind as you read Psalm 81:10. God wanted His people to depend on Him to supply their needs.
The psalmist in Psalm 119:131 opened his mouth and panted because he desired God’s commandments. Ezekiel opened his mouth and received the scroll from God to eat in Ezekiel 3:2. Jesus said that man is not meant to live by bread (natural food) alone, but by also eating every word that comes from the mouth of God.
When we open and read our Bibles or when we attend a Bible study or a church service and listen, we should have our spiritual mouths open, hungry to receive the words from God’s mouth. Second Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is breathed out by God. Genesis 2:7 and Revelation 11:11 show us that when God’s breath enters us, we are made alive.
Moses said that God’s commands are not idle or empty, but they are life (Deuteronomy 32:47). Solomon said that the inspired wisdom of God’s word is life and gives health (Proverbs 4:20-22). Psalm 119:154 says, “Give me life according to Your promise.”
We have a hunger and a thirst in souls for spiritual life that comes through receiving the Word of God. We were created to thrive on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Is your soul panting, trying to catch a breath of life? Do not deprive yourself of the oxygen of God’s words. Open your mouth like an expectant baby bird and God will fill it with His life-giving promises.

“Open your mouth like an expectant baby bird and God will fill it with His life-giving promises.”
What if I were in the position of waiting for food with my mouth open for 10 years long? Should I just wait until it is given to me? Maybe I will starve to leave or death.
“Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised.”
Psalms 119:154 NLT
Thank you, Jesus!

“먹이를 바라는 새끼 새처럼 입을 열면, 하나님께서 생명을 주는 약속으로 그 입을 채워주실 것입니다.”
만약 내가 10년동안 애타게 입만 벌리고 먹이를 기다리고 있는 입장 이라면 어떨까? 줄때까지 기다리고만 있어야 하나? 어쩌면 굶어 죽을지도 날아가 버릴지도 모른다“내 변호인이 되셔서, 나를 변호해 주시고, 주님께서…
