Obedience

Deuteronomy 12:28 — Be careful to obey all My commands, so that all will go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and pleasing to the Lord your God.

Obedience to God’s Word is a blessing. God tells us to do things that will bless us and keep us and make His face shine upon us. God wants all to go well with us, so He sends His Word for us to obey.

In Christianity, God speaks to His children and teaches them about Himself and the right way to live. What we learn from God we are to live before God; learning leads to living when we hear and obey.

Adam and Eve’s sin was listening to the serpent’s voice and doing what it said instead of obeying what God had commanded. Their sin was disobedience to God’s command. When they stopped living what they had learned from God, their lives fell under a curse.

Does God love us? Does God desire the best for us? Is God always good? Does God know the way that leads to life, grace, and peace? Can God be trusted? The answers to these questions is YES. Will God command you to do something that will not bless you in some way? The answer is NO. So, let us be humble and receive grace to carefully obey God’s Word today.

"God speaks to His children and teaches them about Himself and the right way to live."

We should understand God’s complete knowledge of his will and spiritual wisdom. Then our lives will always honor and please the Lord, and our lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, we will grow as we learn to know God better and better. We should be strengthened with all his glorious power so that we will have all the endurance and patience we need. We will be filled with joy and always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. Colossians 1:9-12
