Made Alive in Christ

Today’s Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:20-28

1 Corinthians 15:22 — For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

God promises life in Christ. When Adam sinned by disobeying God, he condemned the human race to death. We all grow old and die. We are all born spiritually dead as sinners. But Jesus Christ came to make us alive.

When a sinner acknowledges his need for God’s mercy and forgiveness and receives God’s grace for salvation from sin, he starts a new life. He is born again spiritually, and though his body may die, his soul and spirit will live on in heaven for eternity. Christ made that possible.

We do not have to wander aimlessly through life down the road to hell and everlasting death. Jesus sacrificed His life so that we can walk the right road, knowing the truth, and experiencing an eternal life relationship with God. In Christ we have true life.

One of these days, a trumpet is going to sound from heaven, and those Christians whose souls have already departed to heaven will have their bodies come back to life in gloriously perfect condition, because all those in Christ will be made alive. Then, any Christians living on the earth when that trumpet sounds will be caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds, and their bodies will be instantly transformed and made gloriously perfect because they also are in Christ.

Today, we have the choice either to live in Adam and experience spiritual death or to live in Christ and be spiritually alive. The difference is like night and day, darkness and light. Lord, help us to live in Christ all day today and thrive in our relationship with Him. We choose life! Amen.
