Numbers 21:8 — Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
Jesus met with Nicodemus, a Pharisee, who wondered who Jesus was and wanted to understand the things Jesus said and did. Jesus made reference to Numbers 21:8 when He said, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life” (John 3:14-15).
The Israelites that had been bitten by serpents in the wilderness looked at the bronze serpent on the pole and were restored to physical health; they would live and not die from the poison. Anyone who looks to Jesus who was lifted up to die on the cross would not die from the poison of their sin, but would have eternal life.
The serpents came into the Israelite camp because the people had been murmuring and complaining about God and His chosen leader, Moses. They were ungrateful for God’s provision and impatient with the way that God was leading them. Perhaps this is why the Bible tells us to give thanks in all things and to wait on the Lord, even when it seems like He is going to do something too late to help us.
Be thankful for what you have. Trust God to keep His promises in His time. Always look to Jesus, not to people, yourself, or circumstances, and you will receive the blessing of Christ’s eternal life. Look to Jesus, and live.

"당신이 가진 것에 감사하십시오.
하나님께서 주님의 때에 그의 약속을 지키실 것을 신뢰하십시오. 항상 사람, 자신 또는 상황이 아니라 예수님을 바라보십시오. 그러면 그리스도의 영원한 삶의 축복을 받게 될 것입니다."
