Today’s Reading: John 10:7-11
John 10:10 — The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
God promises life. Spiritual warfare is real. The devil is a liar and a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44) and he hates everything God has made, especially the church and born-again Christians. Since the devil cannot lay one finger on you without God’s permission, he does everything to get us to destroy ourselves.
The devil is the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10), a liar, and a deceiver, and he will use thoughts and feelings to turn you away from God and from your brothers and sisters in Christ. He will project his thoughts and his emotions at you and try to get you to believe that they are your own so that you will receive them and act on them.
Have you ever thought or felt, “My pastor doesn’t care about me or love me”? Or have you ever thought, “The church has too many problems, so I should stop going”? Maybe you have had negative thoughts about another Christian, about the Bible, or even about God Himself. Where do you think these thoughts and feelings come from?
It is sad when people succumb to negative thoughts and feelings and leave the church, believing the devil’s lie that the church is hurting people and that the church ought to be destroyed or at least changed into something more comfortable for the flesh. It’s sad because the church is a place where we can receive Christ’s life and have it abundantly.
If you find yourself going negative toward the truth of the Bible, the ministry of the church, or God Himself, get on your knees and ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and open your eyes and your heart to the Truth. Satan wants you to live in spiritual death. Jesus Christ wants you to experience His eternal life and find love, joy, and peace in your daily life and in your church.
Let Jesus govern your mind and emotions through the Word hidden in your heart.

[12] Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. [13] Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of…
