Greater Life Through Grace

greatergracekorea

James 4:6 — But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

Sometimes we desire things that we should not desire. We covet something someone else has and try to get it for ourselves, and this causes problems. God is very generous and wants to give us what we need, but sometimes the selfish old sin nature in us rears its ugly head and wants something besides what God would give us.

We do not ask God to give us those other things because we know that God would not give them to us. And so, in our pride, we try to get those other things on our own by using whatever means (often sinful means) to get them, just like unsaved people in the world do. This does not help our relationship with God.

God resists proud people who try to obtain things using the methods of this wicked world. God does not want His children to be a friend to the world system and its economy (its way of life, especially in relationship to God). The world system’s economy wants no relationship with God and is an enemy of God.

God wants His children to receive exactly what they truly need for a satisfying life, and He knows what each one of us is in need of. His economy is the economy of grace, which is so generous and life-giving. God gives greater grace to people who humbly submit themselves to His way of life. A child of God will have a truly satisfying life if he or she lives in close relationship with Jesus Christ, for grace and truth came by Him.

Grace makes life greater!

[6] Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

It is true. If I pray and ask God because of greed, I will not have peace in my heart. If I have to give up God’s will, because of my greed, there will be no peace as well.…
