Today’s Reading: Isaiah 40:27-30
Isaiah 40:29 — He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
God promises power to the weary. There are times when we have no strength of our own and we are so weak that standing is not possible. In those times, we may fall on our face or fall down to our knees, but that is not a bad place to be when you think about it.
Weakness limits your ability to be in control of things. Weakness causes you to be subject to someone or something stronger than you are. Weakness can be humiliating.
Have you ever been in a situation where you were powerless to do anything? This happens more often than we would like to believe because our pride does not want us to let go of doing and thinking in our natural strength. We want to believe that we know more than we do, that we can figure out everything on our own. We want to believe that if we keep trying more and working harder that we will be able to do everything on our own.
Sometimes we even think that we should be able to figure everything out and do everything ourselves because we would be bothering God if we ask Him again and again and again for His grace. We sometimes feel ashamed to need grace again. But that should not be so. There is nothing wrong with needing grace, with needing God’s love, with needing God for everything. Are you ashamed that you need air to breathe?
You must realize that we were designed and created to live in relationship with God and to derive our life from our relationship to Him and His life. Without the Lord, what can we do that has any true and lasting value? How can we stand against the world, the flesh, and the devil? How can we say anything that will make any difference in the life of another person?
We need the grace of God to make us stand, to walk, to think and to speak properly. So if you are flat on your face or down on your knees today, simply ask God for more grace to give you His strength and His wisdom. There’s grace for every need.

"You must realize that we were designed and created to live in a relationship with God and to derive our life from our relationship to Him and His life."
What is grace?
Grace is not only something given by God, but it is God Himself doing things for us.
Grace is God Himself coming to us and doing things for us.
When I am weak, God will come to be my strength, and that coming of God is grace.
That need not be a problem because God will come to stand with me and face that situation for and in me.
Thank you, Jesus!
