God Keeps His Word

Today’s Reading: Hebrews 6:13-20

Hebrews 6:18 — God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie.

God promises to never lie. God made a promise and swore an oath to Abraham. When He swore an oath, God swore by Himself, since His character is unimpeachable and unchanging. God cannot lie, so whatever He promises, He will fulfill in His way and in His time.

God never promises anything He cannot or will not do. When you examine the promises that God made in the Bible, you will see that there are two kinds: promises that God has already fulfilled and promises that will be fulfilled. God has already fulfilled so many promises that He has proven Himself faithful and true.

So, why do we doubt God’s promises? I think that sometimes we believe that the fulfillment of God’s promises depends somehow on us. But that is false, since it is God’s ability and responsibility, not ours, to keep His word. God wants everything to be done perfectly, so He does the work of promise fulfillment Himself.

God can and does use us in His great work, but He is in charge and in control of it all. Like Abraham, we patiently wait for God to do what He wants to do in us, through us, and for His glory.

Nothing can stop God’s promises from coming to pass. Whatever God has promised to us has happened, is happening now, or will happen eventually. That is one hundred percent certain. You can build your life on God’s promises, for He is our sure and steadfast anchor for our souls, our certain hope.

Devotional

“Whatever God has promised to us has happened, is happening now, or will happen eventually.”

“Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

To be honest, it is tiring and difficult. How long do I have to wait? However, there is no other way than to hold on to God, who does not change and always keeps his promises, so I wait and wait. Thank you,Jesus!
