God is our Trouble Taker

Today’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:3-17

2 Chronicles 20:15 — Thus says the Lord to you, “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.“

God promises to fight our battles. When the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir came to make war against King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, Jehoshaphat and the people were afraid. Despite their fears, the king and his people assembled to seek help from the Lord. They prayed together.

Jehoshaphat said these beautiful words: “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” There is great faith in those words. “We do not know what to do.” Sometimes we are faced with problems and we put our faith in ourselves and our ability to find the answer. We do not pray and ask God for His wisdom because we do not have the humility to say, “We do not know what to do.”

Sometimes when we face a problem, we do not have patience. We are not willing to wait and give God an opportunity to work things out His way. Our eyes are on ourselves and other people, not on God. It takes faith to be patient and give God time to do what He desires to do. Often God’s answer comes at the moment when there is absolutely nothing we can do, so that He gets the glory for doing it all.

God’s answer to Jehoshaphat and Judah was, “Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf.” In essence, God said for them to go forward by faith and then watch what God would do for them.

“Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.” Faith, not fear, wins the battle. By sight, Judah would go out and be destroyed. But God promised to be with them and save them. And He did.

Set your face to seek the Lord today as you confront today’s troubles. The devil is a trouble maker, but the Lord is our trouble taker.

The current financial situation of our GMC is truly beyond my ability to resolve. We have reached the end. Past stories of why we were unable to prepare in the past are not the answer. We wait for a clear answer and direction from God. In the end, God will receive the greatest glory. I can only trust you. I love Jesus.
