Today’s Reading: Numbers 6:22-27
Numbers 6:24 — The Lord bless you and keep you.
God promises to bless. In Leviticus 9, Aaron the high priest makes sacrificial offerings for himself and the people. Blood is applied, poured, and splashed upon the altar to bring the people into right relationship with God. At the end of these offerings, Aaron lifts up his hands toward the people and blesses them with the blessing recorded in Numbers 6:24-26, and the glory of appears to all the people.
The words God gives Aaron to say is a threefold, divinely-inspired blessing. Each part of the blessing begins with the words “The Lord” or Yahweh in Hebrew, the personal name of God. God wanted His personal name to be put upon His people asa blessing. Yahweh’s divine character and nature were to be a blessing for His people.
The threefold nature of this blessing reflects the triune nature of God Himself. This is a blessing from the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The blessing of the Father is His keeping power and divine protection. The blessing of the Son is divine grace and the light of His presence. The blessing of the Holy Spirit is divine peace that emanates from His presence.
There is mention of God’s face and countenance in the blessing, for God is turned toward His people and looking upon them with divine favor. The sacrifices Aaron and his sons made have covered the sins of the people and made them right in God’s eyes.
We who live under God’s glorious new covenant of grace, stand righteous in God’s eyes because of the perfect blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. When we stand in Christ by the grace of God, His face is turned fully toward us, radiating grace and peace, and we are secure in the protection of His love.
The Lord is blessing you, keeping you, making His face shine upon you being gracious to you, and giving you peace today as you stand in faith under the blood of Jesus our Savior. O, be blessed in Christ today!

Devotional
“When we stand in Christ by the grace of God, His face is turned fully toward us, radiating grace and peace, and we are secure in the protection of His love.”
Nevertheless, I keep looking at other things in my life. Sometimes, I even get caught up in things other than God. There is nothing better or more important in this world than God. Every morning and every evening, the word of the God helps me look at the Lord more deeply and more strongly. It helps because God is in the Word...Jesus, who loved me and died for me (Galatians 2:20), is protecting me. So that I am resting in His peace.Thank you jesus!
