Today’s Reading: Joshua 1:1-9
Joshua 1:9 — Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
God promises to be with us. A command is not a suggestion, a request, or a piece of advice that can be dismissed or ignored. A command is backed by authority and states something that is required. God commanded Joshua not to be afraid but be strong and courageous.
What God commands He makes possible. How could Joshua not be afraid but be strong and courageous as the new leader of the children of Israel and lead them into the Promised Land? Joshua could do this because God would be with him wherever he went. This is the key to all of God’s commandments.
When Jesus gave the Great Commission which commanded His disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel, He told them that He would always be with them. On the night Jesus gave His disciples a new commandment to love one another, He also promised the presence of the Holy Spirit would be with them.
God knows that we cannot do what He commands us to do without Him and His power and ability. We need to remember this before we attempt to obey God’s commands with our limited natural strength. We need to learn to lean on the everlasting arms of God and be like Moses who said to God, “If You don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place” (Exodus 33:15). God, be with us today. Amen.

예수 그리스도를 구주로 영접한 후, 삶을 바라보는 관점이 바뀌었습니다. 하나님이 가라고 말씀하시면 가야합니다. 그는 이미 가는 방법을 알고 있습니다.하나님이 하라고 말씀하셨다면 그렇게 하는 것이 좋습니다.그분은 그것이 나에게 좋은 것을 알고 계십니다. 나는 그분께 순종할 수밖에 없습니다. 자격 없는 죄인인 나를 위해 죽기까지 하신 분이기 때문입니다.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Philippians 4:6 NLT
Once you get over one hurdle, the next hurdle comes, and when you think it's over, the next one happens again. Worry and discouragement do not help. Just hold on to God who makes everything possible and move on to the next task.
