Get in the Boat

Today’s Reading: Mark 4:35-41

Mark 4:35,37 — He [Jesus] said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling.

God promises to take us through our hardships. It was Jesus’ idea to get into the boat to go to the other side. Jesus must have been exhausted because He fell asleep and slept through the storm until He disciples woke Him. Jesus did not seem to be worried about the storm. He was more concerned about His disciples’ faith.

Jesus always followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. He trusted that whatever He said or did, God would take care of Him, because God directed had Him to do or say those things.

Jesus knew that He had come to die for the sins of the world, and He knew that His Father would protect Him and get Him through all His difficulties until it was His time to die.

So, Jesus was not worried about dying in the storm. It was not His time to die. This is how we ought to live by faith. Our days are numbered. We will not die before our time here is finished. Until then, we must trust God for each day we are given to live. We must rely on the Holy Spirit’s leading and find our rest in Jesus in the back of the boat.

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His Word, just to rest upon His promise, just to know “Thus saith the Lord.” Get in the boat and trust in Jesus. Put your faith in His Word and rest on His promises. He will bring you to the other side.

“Put your faith in His Word and rest on His promises. He will bring you to the other side.”

When I stand on the edge of a cliff, when something happens that I can never solve in my own strength, I really have nothing to hold on to except the word of the God’s promise.

Please save me!

Bring me to the other side!

“그분의 말씀을 믿고 그분의 약속을 의지하십시오. 그는 당신을 약속의 땅으로 데려갈 것입니다.”

내가 벼랑끝에 섰을때, 내 힘으론 절대 해결할수 없을 일이 일어났을 때, 정말이지 주님의 약속의 말씀외엔 붙들것이 없다. 하나님 살려주세요. 저를 약속의 땅으로 보내주세요.
