Do You Believe in Life After Life?

Today’s Reading: John 11:1-44

John 11:26 — Everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?

God promises life after life. Born again believers go from one life to another. Jesus said that believers never die, and it is true. The souls and spirits of people do not cease to exist when their bodies expire; they pass into eternity.

Notice how Jesus says, “Everyone who lives and believes in Me.” Those are two separate but related actions. Those who believe in Jesus also live in Jesus. When we believed in Jesus for our salvation, we were instantaneously hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). The old life (if you could even call it “life”) died, and we we given a new life in Jesus.

Before salvation, we have a kind of life that was no life at all. The Bible says that we were dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). We were the walking dead but we did not know it.

Then one day we heard the truth of the gospel of Christ and the Holy Spirit enabled us to see reality and gave us the capacity to make a choice to accept or reject Christ and His offer of eternal life. To God be the glory, if you are a born-again believer, you made the right choice, and now you can live every day of your life in Jesus.

So, right now, you have a new life that will never end, and some day you will pass from this life in time and space to life in heaven. We are living today from faith to faith (Romans 1:17), being changed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18), and receiving grace upon grace (John 1:16) knowing that we will have life after life! Amen and amen!
