Confess!

Romans 10:9 — If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

One meaning of the word confess is to disclose, acknowledge, or admit something damaging or inconvenient to oneself, as in “to confess to a crime” or “to confess one’s sin.” When a person confesses something, he makes that thing known.

In the Roman Empire, the emperor was revered as one of the gods. Each year, people were to visit a temple, burn incense, and confess “Caesar is Lord.” Christians refused to do this, and so were labeled as disloyal citizens who were a danger to society. Their sin or crime was that they would only confess “Jesus is Lord.” Many Christians were martyred back then for their confession, and this still happens today.

Another way that the word confess is used is to profess one’s love for another. A boy may confess to a girl that he likes her and hopes that she will requite his feelings. A confession such as this comes from the heart. When a Christian loves Jesus, he or she should not be shy to confess “Jesus is my Lord.”

Paul writes about the importance of belief. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the One who died for us and was raised from the dead to secure our eternal salvation. Through simple childlike faith in Jesus and what He did to save us, we are saved, and out of sheer gratitude we ought to boldly proclaim that He is our Lord.

Are you guilty of loving Jesus today? Will you confess, “Yes, Jesus is my Lord”? Make your love for the Lord known with your mouth. Don’t be shy to admit your relationship with Jesus.

"Yes, Jesus is my Lord”

The more I study the commandments in its Bible . The more I agree with God's words. Any key to living in such awareness must be found in the great god's words of the Bible."Yes, Jesus is my Lord”

"예, 예수님은 나의 주님이십니다"

성경의 계명을 더 많이 공부할수록, 하나님의 말씀에 더 동의하게 됩니다. 그런 자각 속에서 사는 열쇠는 성경의 위대한 하나님의 말씀에서 찾아야 합니다. "예, 예수님은 나의 주님이십니다"
