Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:18-22

2 Corinthians 1:20 — For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!”

God promises to help with our doubts. God never wavers and never has doubts. Doubt has its roots in the fear of being lied to or being wrong. Doubt is a kind of self-defense mechanism. When dealing with sinners, having some doubts can be healthy. But when dealing with God, having doubts can keep you from having a close relationship with Him.

Having doubts can save a person from being taken in by a liar, like someone who takes people’s money by voice phishing. But “God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change his mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19).

God has proved His trustworthiness. All 333 promises made about Jesus in the Old Testament were completely fulfilled down to the last detail. This is why Paul wrote that all of God’s promises have been fulfilled with a resounding “Yes!” Does God keep His Word? Yes! Is God a Promise Keeper? Yes!

Does God love you? Yes! Does God know every detail of your life and have a perfect plan to transform you into a holy saint? Yes! Does God only relate to you on the basis of grace? Yes! Are you a born-again new creation in Christ today? Yes! All of these things and many, many more are all true because God says so.

The devil always tries to make us doubt God’s Word and God’s character and nature. The devil is always a liar, so don’t listen to him! Don’t give him an opportunity to lie to you (Ephesians 4:27). Listen to Jesus. Listen to the Holy Spirit. Listen to God speak to you through His holy Word. And agree with God. When God says, “I love you with an everlasting love,” shout “Amen!” today and every day. Because it is true.
